Opening this year’s Newlyn Fish Festival is RICK STEIN, celebrated chef, writer and tv personality - he will be signing  copies of his latest book “far eastern odyssey” in the morning; the book is an epic culinary journey along rivers, through jungles and around coastlines.  Along the way, Rick visits traditional family-run restaurants, street vendors, floating markets, night markets, fishing villages, and the local cinnamon and rice farmers to learn about the authentic food of the Far East, and to sample the delicious spectrum of exotic flavours.

10:30 to 11:30 Andy Appelton from 15 Cornwall will be the first in line to tantalise your taste buds with some fantastic creations based on Newlyn’s fish.

11:30 to 12:30
Fishmonger extraordinaire Duncan Lucas of Passionate about Fish will be showing you how to perfectly fillet and prepare and dish up your seafood.

12:30 to 13:30
Chef Keir Meikle from the Navy Inn will be teaching you how to cook some seriously delicious fishy food.13:30 to 14:30 Chef Sanjay Kumar will be showing you how to prepare and cook Sardines, Mackerel and Megrim Sole the succulent way.

14:30 to 15:30 The BIG TUNA challenge!
For the first time filleting masters Keir Meikle, Robin Turner,  and Duncan Lucas will join this unique filleting challenge: who will be the first to finish filleting  a whole Cornish Tuna? Don’t miss this unique event!
