Newlyn Fish Festival – August Bank Holiday Monday
We’re still finalising lots of details for 201, the 29th annual Newlyn Fish Festival. Rest assured, it will once again be one of the biggest and best celebrations of the sea, seafood and fishing in the country.
Fish cookery demonstrations, fish display, crab picking demonstrations, two music stages, luggers in the harbour, trawlers racing, gigs sprinting, children’s rides, entertainment and education, lots of fabulous food to enjoy plus art & craft stalls to explore.
In its history, Newlyn Fish Festival has donated £275,000 to The Fishermen’s Mission for the benefit of Cornish Fishermen who are constantly at risk from the elements to land fish for our plates. From the 2017 event alone we donated £10,000 to The Mission plus gratuities to local youth groups.

Sunday evening before the festival brings our fishing community together to formally acknowledge what the work of the festival’s patron, the Fishermen’s Mission, is all about – serving the needs fishermen be they physical, mental or financial in the event of accident, infirmity or misfortune.

8:00pm: Last Night of the Cornish Proms
Sunday evening usually sees The Centre on Chywoone Hill host the Last Night of the Cornish Proms – a celebration of Cornish songs with this year’s details to follow. Enjoy all this with a pasty and cuppa all included in the £6 entrance fee!
