Welcome to the Newlyn Fish Festival 2008!

The Newlyn Fish Festival celebrates the Cornish Fish Industry on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August, amongst the wonderful surroundings of Cornwall’s largest fishing port. Don't miss it!

Fishermen's Mission

The Newlyn Fish Festival is organised in aid of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen  which provides care, compassion and support to working, retired and disabled fishermen and their families.

The Festival promotes the Diversity, Quality and Sustainability of Fish and Shellfish landed in Cornwall by a fleet of vessels from 49 ports, harbours’ and coves around the 326 mile Cornish Coastline.

Opening this year’s Newlyn Fish Festival is Pete Goss who is about to recreate the heroic journey of seven Cornishmen who sailed a 37 ft wooden lugger from Newlyn to Australia more than 150 years ago.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide selection of Seafood, Cooking Demonstrations, Children’s Workshops, Fish Auctions, Open Vessels, Craft, Art and Trade stalls together with a full programme of Music and Harbour Entertainments including Gig Racing, Naval War Ships, Helicopters, The Penlee Lifeboat, the Camborne Youth Band and much more besides.
